Hillshade Map with Land Cover and Bike Route

Here is a terrain map using a digital elevation model and land cover data to enhance the realism and appeal of the shaded relief map. Natural Earth vector data sets were used for physical and cultural features. The Bike route was created in Google My Maps and exported as a KML file into ArcMap. The detailed hillshade was generated in ArcMap using the 3D Analyst extension. The landcover was generalized using ArcMap and the Spatial Analyst extension. Photoshop was used to merge, process and style the hillshade, DEM and land cover layers. Adobe Illustrator was used with the raster data from Photoshop and vector layers to produce the final map.
